As you raised your arm To fell Chris Brass, elbow to face? I’m here to stay? What crossed your mind Peter? As you walked away T o come straight back, unwanted, unloved. They’ll always love me here? What crossed your mind Peter? As you heard the news Your girl gone yet in death closer to us. I need to stay here? What crossed your mind Peter? A s you sat unused Always fit, always willing affable, confused. Do they still love me here? What crossed your mind Peter? As your raised your hand To punch away from Lambert’s head? A last hurrah? What crossed your mind Peter? As you smashed it home. 400 up and still going, twenty seven goals strong. We’ll always love you here, Peter. What crossed your mind Peter? At the back post? Thigh, volley, goal. Redemption. Home. You're a legend here Peter.
